1. Halls Chophouse – 434 King St.

Coming up as No. 1 again and again is Halls Chophouse with top notch service, ambiance and delectable seafood and steaks cuisine. 

2. Circa 1886 – 149 Wentworth St.

World class in every way.  A “Michelin Star” restaurant with beautiful atmosphere and excellent, knowledgeable service.  Featuring a creative menu that has a European, Southern and African influence.

3. 82 Queen – 82 Queen St

This queen of the Charleston’s restaurants has been around 32 years.  82 Queen revamps traditional Southern dishes using fresh, local ingredients and modern takes on the classics. Beautiful outdoor, garden seating. Enjoy lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch in 81 Queen’s 19th-century dining rooms or in heated, brick courtyard underneath a lovely Southern magnolia tree.

4. S.N.O.B – Slightly North of Broad – 192 E Bay St.

Friendly service, sophisticated ambiance serving modern Lowcountry and southern cuisine in an airy, 18th century warehouse.

5. Peninsula Grill – 112 N. Market

AAA Four-Diamond restaurant has been recognized by Departures, Conde Nast Traveler, Food & Wine, The New York Times, Southern Living, Travel + Leisure, Wine Spectator, and others for serving the finest and freshest ingredients sourced locally and globally.

6. Grill 225

Grill 225 is an amazing and memorable dining experience for locals and tourist due to its fabulous steak and seafood served by excellent waitstaff.  It features 2 top notch bars.  The upstairs roof bar and the downstairs bar featuring the notorious nitro martinis.

7. Charleston Grill – 224 King St.

Outstanding service and creative, contemporary cuisine.

8. Revival – 162 E Bay St.

Modern, relaxed dining with a focus on ingredients from South Carolina’s past.  Working directly with local farmers to “revive” certain ingredients and use them in specialty dishes.  Later visit Rooftop for an incredible view.

9. Magnolias – 185 E Bay St.

Refined, traditional Southern cooking served in a sophisticated atmosphere.

10. Fig – 232 Meeting St.

This hot spot for dining sometimes needs advance reservations.  Fig offers inside and outside seating (though outside seating is just 2 person tables.)
